This week is National FFA Week, a time to share what the student organization is and the career and life-building skills it brings to its members.
The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center FFA Chapter celebrated the occasion with an assembly filled with games and activities for students and staff. Tenth grader Emma Vogl says some highlights from this year in FFA include their successful fruit sale fundraiser and attending the National Convention last fall. She shares the impact of being in FFA, “Well, I’ve gotten a lot of leadership skills out of FFA and my dad and my grandpa and my older sister were all in FFA so it was just kind of a family tradition to be in it.”
Team cooperation, public speaking, and agriculture-related skills were all mentioned by ACGC students as what FFA has taught them. The ACGC FFA Chapter will be headed next to the Southwest District Convention in Glenwood on March 2nd.
