An assortment of summer jobs are available through the Adel Parks and Recreation Department, with the application deadlines coming soon.

The first position is for a campground host at Island Park. The host will work from mid-April through early November, and will be in charge of collecting payments as well as cleaning the grounds and facilities daily. Another open position is for a youth tennis instructor, who will teach the sport to children ranging from beginner to intermediate skill levels. The tennis program runs in two three-week sessions, meeting twice a week in the morning. Next, the parks department is looking for maintenance workers. Applicants must be over 18-years-old, and will be responsible for general maintenance of the parks and ball fields, as well as park and cemetery mowing, trimming, lining ball fields, and trash clean up.

There are also several seasonal positions open at the Adel Aquatic Center, including managers, lifeguards, front desk cashiers, and concession staff. Other jobs include: ball field concession stand workers from April through August; youth softball and baseball umpires; and summer recreation supervisors. The deadlines to submit applications include: March 15th for the campground supervisor; March 22nd for the tennis instructor, maintenance workers, aquatic center personnel, and concession stand; mid-April for umpires; and May 1st for recreation supervisors.
