A Clive man was sent to the hospital late Sunday night following a single-vehicle rollover wreck east of Perry.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, at just before midnight, they received a call regarding a 2002 Jeep Wrangler that had lost control in the icy conditions. The vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 141 just east of Perry near the intersection of M Avenue. The driver was 44-year-old Gregory Press of Clive, who reportedly was driving too fast for the conditions and left the roadway into the median. The Jeep then rolled and landed upright in the eastbound lanes.
Press was checked at the scene by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services, complaining of head and ear injuries. He was then transported to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with suspected minor injuries. The vehicle sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage. Press was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the wreck, though the airbag in the vehicle did not deploy. The Perry Police and Fire Departments also responded to the incident.
