About 40 people gathered at the Saints Center for Culture and the Arts Thursday night for the Stuart Chamber Annual Dinner.

Two of Stuart’s most infamous visitors served as the theme for the event, with decorations and appetizers paying homage to Bonnie and Clyde and the 1930s. The night’s featured speaker was local historian Rod Stanley, who talked about Bonnie and Clyde and the Barrow Gang’s various trips around the Stuart area. Chamber officers also gave updates on projects and upcoming events, such as the inaugural Bonnie and Clyde 5 Mile Run/Walk happening in Stuart and Dexter April 13th. Chamber President Kristy Lonsdale says the evening was a success, “Just to give a big thank you again to Dick Doherty for letting us use the All Saints (Center), Hometown Foods for catering the food, Linden Street Sweets for the dessert, and Stuart Flowers for doing the centerpieces and the flowers. It takes a, like I said a teamwork to make everything happen and Stuart seems to have a really good team of helpers.”

Besides the Bonnie and Clyde Run, the Stuart Chamber is also in the midst of planning for the annual Good Egg Days, and a new barbecue cook off event in the fall. You can hear more from Lonsdale during today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program on air and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
