Prior to spring break week, the Perry Jayette track team has been outside a grand total of one workout.  Due to the unusual winter weather in March, Perry’s fleet of mid-distance runners and sprinters have been relegated to indoor work and form running.

“Yeah, the first month of the season has been  a little challenging to say the least,” smiled Perry head coach Matt Hardy.  Our sprinters and mid distance runners have been outside just once this season so we have doing a lot of circuit training indoors and working with running form.  Now the distance runners have been outside with Coach Marzen so they are a little tougher or something but for the most part we are about one month behind schedule.”

Hardy will take 11 athletes to the Jenner Indoor Invite this Friday in Lamoni.
