Fingerprint dusting, stethoscopes, and photoshop: what do these all have in common? They’ll all be demonstrated at Guthrie County Extension’s third annual STEM Fest.

This free, fast-paced, and educational event will feature over 30 different businesses hosting activities that relate to science, technology, engineering, and math. Guthrie County Extension Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark explains why they host this event, “I think the biggest thing is for kids to understand that there are businesses here in rural Iowa. They don’t have to go to a big city to get the same business. And then it’s also a family-friendly event so parents are not overwhelmed at the word STEM. I think STEM can be overwhelming for a lot of parents and it’s not as difficult as it seems to be.”

Raccoon Valley Radio will be participating, showing kids how to record and edit audio. This family-friendly event will include door prizes, giveaways, and more. STEM Fest will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th at Panorama High School.
