The Adult Winter Reading Program with the Jefferson Public Library recently wrapped up.

Library Director Jane Millard says the final party took place last weekend where awards and prizes were handed out to the 30 participants. This year’s theme was “Once Upon A Crime” and included murder mystery activities. Millard says the participants read 446 books during the two-month program and there were five main activities, which included a kick-off party in January, an interactive movie with “Clue,” and a special presentation with Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse. Millard appreciates all of the sponsorships and donations to make this year’s Winter Reading Program another success.

“Thank you to our 12 local businesses and the Friends of the Library that sponsored the program and donated prizes to our adult readers. And each year the library offers reading programs for adults, teens and children (with) adults in the winter time, and teens and children during the summer. So we will be telling you about those programs very soon.”

The Winter Reading Program was from January 14th through March 23rd.
