
A Casey man is sentenced to jail time for violating probation and a drug possession charge.
According to court documents, 58-year-old Andrew Dean Nelson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, last November. The charge violated his probation for a previous conviction of a misdemeanor theft incident in August of 2018 in Adair County. In a negotiated voluntary guilty plea, Nelson was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail for violating his probation and then serve another 21 days in jail for the felony drug charge. He was also ordered by pay $625 in fines and other court costs.
