After several months off due to a very long winter, the Perry Walking School Bus is at long last ready to return.

Starting April 12th, the popular Friday activity for Perry Elementary students will resume. It will run each week through May 31st, though it will be weather-dependant. Organizer Misty VonBehren is excited for the Walking School Bus to finally get going again, and she believes the feeling is mutual among the students, their parents, and the elementary staff. Participants will depart from Perry High School at 7:30 a.m. each Friday, and will walk to the elementary building. Permission slips are being sent home with students, and they can also be picked up at the Perry Public Library.

The Walking School Bus is a collaboration between the library, school, and several area businesses. For more information about participating or volunteering, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569 and talk to VonBehren.
