Jefferson man faces drug charges from a December incident.

Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says 51-year-old Randy Robert Lundberg is charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine, an aggravated misdemeanor for his third or subsequent offense for possession of marijuana, and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the charges stem from a traffic stop on December 1, 2018.

He says an officer initially stopped Lundberg’s vehicle for speeding in the 300 block of West Clark Street. When the officer approached and started talking with Lundberg, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A probable search was conducted of the vehicle and the officer found green residue at the bottom of a bag, which was believed to be marjiuana. The officer also found three smoking devices with burnt residue, which were sent to the Criminalistics Laboratory for testing. The devices tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine.

An arrest warrant was issued and Lundberg was apprehended and booked into the Greene County Jail. He was released after posting bond earlier this week.
