Another two Spring sports teams from Greene County High School are set to open the 2019 season today. Head Coach Marilyn Tasler and the girls’ soccer teams plays in Stuart vs. West Central Valley at 5:30 p.m. The Rams were 4-12 in 2018, their first season of having their own high school soccer program. Two of the wins were via forfeit. The Rams totaled just 10 goals in the 14 matches they played while allowing just over six goals per game. A number of players return with one or more seasons of high school soccer to their names.

Coach Shawn Zanders notified Raccoon Valley Radio the Rams would open the girls’ golf season vs. Carroll High today, but the site of the 4 p.m. match has been switched. It will now be played at The Hill west of Grand Junction because course conditions won’t allow playing at Jefferson Community Golf Course.

Heath Telleen is the Rams’ boys’ coach. He informed Raccoon Valley Radio on Sunday the meet scheduled for today in Carroll vs. the Tigers has been postponed because of unsuitable playing conditions on the course. The teams will try to find a make up date later in the season.

Tomorrow, the boys’ soccer team opens it’s season in Humboldt, and the Greene County track & field squads are both scheduled for the Kip Janvrin Panorama Coed Relays in Panora.
