The Panorama boys golf team opened the season in style Monday, winning a triangular over Van Meter and Earlham with a combined 9-hole score of 164.
The Panthers finished four shots better than second place Van Meter led by a 2-over par 36 from junior Kolby Shackelford. Lucas Leiferman and Ryan Klinge each shot 42 for the Panthers while Dylan Douglass and Wyatt Appleseth each carded a 44. Senior Trey Cobb posted a score of 46. Only the top four scores are counted for team standings.
Meanwhile the Panorama girls were second in their triangular with a score of 206, seven strokes behind Van Meter’s team score of 199. Abby Cobb led the Lady Panthers with a score of 49, good for third place among individuals.
The boys team will tee it up again Saturday in Anita while the next action for the girls will be Monday at home when they host ACGC, Ogden and Van Meter.
