In the summer of 2020, Dallas County Conservation will be taking a trip to Idaho for a big hiking and camping expedition, and they’re getting people ready for it with a program this Tuesday.

In preparation for their third ever Adult Wilderness Backpacking Trek, Conservation is hosting an introductory program featuring participants from the previous two events in 2011 and 2015. The veteran hikers will share stories detailing their adventures at the Kuehn Conservation Area from 7-9 p.m. on April 16th. Attendees will also be guided through a series of workshops that will provide the foundational skill set for wilderness backpacking. Organizers hope the program ignites an interest in attendees to take part in the 11-day hike through north-central Idaho next year.

There is no cost to attend the informational meeting, and no registration is required. For more information on the Adult Wilderness Backpacking Trek, stop in or call Forest Park Museum and Arboretum in Perry at 515-465-3577.
