Six teams competed this past Thursday evening for bragging rights and free popcorn and ice cream, in the latest edition of Trivia with Friends in Perry.

The Friends of the Perry Public Library hosted the event, which had been rescheduled from mid-March due to weather. However, its new date in April didn’t stop the organizers from keeping their original theme, which was “March Madness.” Each of the eight categories had something to do with that theme, ranging from important March dates to movies with the word “Mad” in them. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Chris Cohea served as emcee for the event, which was once again held at La Poste. At the end of the evening, a team named “23” was the victors, earning microwave popcorn for each of the members, as well as free ice cream from Frio.

All the proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends group, which helps fund programs at the Perry Library throughout the year. Trivia enthusiasts won’t have much longer to wait to show off their knowledge, because there will be another edition of Sesquicentennial Trivia held on Thursday, May 2nd, as the next fundraiser for Perry’s 150th Celebration.
