Friday, April 12th

12:59am: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Austin Redding of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

1:17am: Keith Schaffer reported two males knocked on his door at 1000 West Adams Street # 15. Schaffer advised when he answered the door, one of the subjects assaulted him and the two ran from the area. The officer is working to obtain any video that may exists and is investigating.

8:17am: An officer investigated a Backing Accident at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. A 2000 GMC pickup, owned by Michael Teeples of Jefferson was parked in the parking lot. The Teeples vehicle rolled from its parking spot and struck another parked vehicle. The 2015 Ford Fusion was owned by Lynda Pierson of Jefferson. Pierson’s vehicle suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages, while the Teeples vehicle had a reported $300.00 in damages.

10:54am: The GCMC ER requested an officer for a Dog Bite. The officer arrived at E and learned that Jo Ann Hart was sitting in a chair at her residence at 404 East Harrison Street. She had her injured dog in her lap. As she attempted to check the animal’s wound, it snapped at her. The animal bit her in the cheek. The officer determined the animal acted as any dog would and no action was taken against the dog.

1:48pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a vehicle in the 1800 Block of North Elm Street with Dark Windows. The officer learned the driver did not have proof of insurance in the vehicle. The owner had previously been given a warning and a written citation for this. The officer towed the vehicle to Impound.

2:42pm: A Traffic Stop performed at Madison and Cedar Streets resulted in Simon Andre of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

5:31pm: Michelle Cook requested an officer at 911 West State Street to report a Theft. The officer learned that Cook had a cousin staying in her apartment for about 6 months. The cousin was now gone and took several household items that belong to Cook. There was also a missing purse with $100.00 in it. The officer is investigating the event.

9:04pm: A caller advised of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 300 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officers did not locate the reported vehicle.

Saturday, April 13th

8:45am: The White Oak Station reported a customer had pumped $10.02 of fuel on 04/12/19, and did not have any money to pay for it. The store allowed him to leave with the promise to return and pay for the fuel. He had not yet returned.

9:10am: Star Gifford requested an officer at Dollar General to speak with her young daughter about stealing. The officer spoke with the youth about possible consequences to shoplifting.

9:37am: An officer located a dog running loose in the 400 Block of North Pinet Street. The officer was familiar with the animal and contacted the owner.

11:57am: Kya Parsons advised she was bit by a dog near Maple and State Streets. She advised she was riding her bike in the area and witnessed three dogs run from a residence in the area. The owners were attempting to catch the animals. Kya grabbed one of the dogs by the collar in attempts to assist the owner. Another one of the dogs jumped on her and nipped her on the thigh. The officer made contact with the owner of the animal and learned her teenage children had let a pup outside to go to the bathroom when the others pushed their way through

the open door. Amanda Rumley was issued a Citation for, “Animal Running at Large.” The animal was placed in a 10 Day Home Quarantine by the officer. Rumley is working to remove the animal from the city.

2:48pm: An officer was advised of three juveniles hanging around the restrooms at Kelso Park. The officer arrived and heard three voices coming from inside the restroom and smelled the odor of burnt marijuana. The officer entered the restroom and made contact with the three male juveniles. The officer located a small amount of marijuana on one teen and a Vape Device on another. The officer has contacted parents and charges are pending test results.

3:59pm: An officer located a group of juveniles at Daubendiek Park and spoke with them. The officer’s investigation seized a small amount of marijuana and (3) smoking devices from a juvenile female. A pack of cigarettes were discovered and seized from another juvenile. All parents were contacted and the items will be tested. Future Juvenile Charges are pending.

7:52pm: Merissa Olson spoke to an officer about a Civil Child Custody Issue.

8:34pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Cody Husar of Scranton being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

10:11pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 220 th Streets resulted in Jason Sheldahl of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

10:13pm: An officer assisted a resident who had locked themselves out of an apartment in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive. The officer was able to obtain entry without damaging the door.

Sunday, April 14th

10:43am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of South Cedar Street.

2:22pm: Tim Hegstrom turned in an Iowa Driver’s License he had found at 621 South Wilson Ave.

6:22pm: An officer assisted a motorist at 606 Hwy 30 East whose dog had stepped on the door lock and locked them out of the running vehicle.

6:46pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the parking lot in the 200 Block of North Elm Street. A 2013 Toyota Rav 4, owned and operated by Anna Pound of Jefferson backed into a parked vehicle in the lot. The 2003 Dodge Dakota was owned by Rose Lehrkamp of Scranton. The Pound vehicle had a reported $400.00 in damages, while the Lehrkamp vehicle suffered a reported $100.00 in damages.

9:05pm: Jan Olson reported a Barking Dog in the 600 Block of North Olive Street. The officer spoke to the owner about the issue and offered some fixes for the issue.

11:52pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of North Maple Street.
