A special event is coming back to the downtown square in Jefferson this week.

The Available Buildings Tour was last done in Jefferson in 2015 and the return of the program features a dozen buildings around the square. Jefferson Matters: Main Street Program Director Peg Raney says entrepreneurs, small business owners and the general public are invited to the event. It will be held on Thursday from 11:30am to 5:30pm and Friday from 10am to 2pm. Also on Thursday will be Midwest Partnership’s EntreBash, which will be at the Jefferson Elks Lodge from 5 to 7pm. Small business owners and entrepreneurs will learn about new ideas and will have free resources available from the Small Business Development Center.

Raney points out that the building owners will also be on-hand during special designated times as well.

“We’ll have the building owners or a contact that is able to speak for them from 12 to 1(pm) and 4 to 5(pm) on Thursday and then again from 12 to 1(pm) on Saturday. So if someone wants to come back and talk directly to a building owner about possibilities, they are welcome to come back at those times.”

Pre-registrations are encouraged, or you can register the day of the tours. It is free and open to the public. To register and for a list of the buildings that will be on the tour, click the links in this story on our website.
