The ADM Boys’ Track and Field team will be sending two of their student-athletes to Des Moines for the weekend to compete on a Statewide Platform at Drake Stadium.
The 2019 Drake Relays get underway today, and will last through Saturday evening. Running on the blue track at Drake is a goal for most Track and Field athletes, as it’s one of the few times that the state’s elite athletes get together from all four classes and compete on the same stage.
The two ADM athletes making the trip to the Capital City are Senior, Lucas Heitz, and Sophomore, Nate Mueller. Heitz qualified for one event at the Drake Relays, as he’ll run Friday morning at 8:30 in the 110 meter hurdles. Nate Mueller qualified for two events at the Drake Relays, and he’ll represent the Tigers first, when he runs in the 3200 meter tonight at 5:25. He’ll also be running Saturday afternoon at 4:26 in the 1600 meter run.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Doug Rieder will be reporting live from Drake Stadium all weekend as athletes from several different high schools in our listening area compete today through Saturday.
