A special event is taking place this weekend at the Churdan Public Library.
Lake City author Darcy Dougherty Maulsby will be presenting her book, “Iowa’s Lost History on the Titanic.” It is based on true stories from those Iowans who were on the Titanic that sank to the bottom of the North Atlantic in 1912. More than 20 people had ties from Iowa who were on the Titanic and Maulsby will be sharing those stories in her program that will be held at the Churdan Library at 2pm this Sunday.
Maulsby has been featured on Iowa Public Radio, as well as in the Iowa History Journal, Our Iowa magazine and other publications. Signed copies of her book will be available for purchase, along with her other non-fiction books including “A Culinary History of Iowa,” “Calhoun County,” and “Dallas County.” The program is free and open to the public and no registration is necessary.
