Heads up for those who own boats, the deadline to renew their registration is coming up soon.

Greene County Recorder Marcia Tasler says all boating registrations must be paid before May 1st to avoid a $5 penalty. All boating registrations are valid for three years, but if yours is due to expire this year, you must renew it before May 1st, otherwise you will pay a $5 late fee. All boats that are used on public waterways must be registered or you could face fines and other penalties.
