This week is National Small Business Week, and the Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering an assortment of free resources.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce will be taking and advantage of those programs and presenting them to their membership tomorrow and Wednesday. From 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at the Towncraft Building, the Chamber will be showing a virtual conference provided by SBA. It features five different webinars from nationwide partners, including Google, Square, Constant Contact, Chase Bank, and Visa, and attendees can stay for as long or as little as they would like. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti points out that (it) the virtual conference can be accessed from anywhere, but those who watch it at the Towncraft Building will be able to have additional discussion about the topics.

Also kicking off tomorrow with Small Business Week in mind is a series the Chamber is calling “Better My Business.” The series will commence with a forum featuring a variety of local and state resource partners, which will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at Towncraft. Pasutti says the series will be free to Chamber members and she’s hopeful many will take advantage of it. “It’s just a matter of wanting to be a better resource to our members and our community, seeing the opportunity to help our businesses with this kind of thing. And so I really encourage folks to just take a look to see what we’ve got going on, and if there’s something that you’re needing that you don’t see on the list then we can look into adding it. But (it’s) a new program that we hope people can take part in.”
