It’s a busy day for Panorama high school athletics with Panora playing host to two major events today.
State track qualifying will be held at the high school after being postponed from Thursday. There will be 12 teams competing. The first and second place finishers in each event will advance to the state track meet along with the top eight performers statewide who weren’t one of the top two at their respective qualifying sites.
The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Meanwhile the postseason begins today for boys golf with sectionals at Lake Panorama National Golf Course.
The Panthers will be one of eight teams competing, along with ACGC, West Central Valley, AHSTW, Kuemper Catholic, Nodaway Valley, Ogden and Van Meter. The top two teams will move on to districts next week in Carroll along with the top two individuals who aren’t on one of those teams. Because Panorama is the host team if they finish in the top two then the third place team would also advance.
Golf sectionals tee off at 10 a.m. and will run through the afternoon at Lake Panorama National.
