The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.
The meeting began with the Board receiving a technology update from Tech Coordinator Dave Faucher and a presentation on the senior class trip to Washington, D.C. that happened last March. Next, the Board approved personnel changes, including terminating english teacher Angela Larson’s contract for staff reduction purposes. Superintendent Steve Smith said that Larson originally requested a hearing and then withdrew her request.
The Board then approved the 2019 graduates, which showed the entire class of 52 students. They also approved the annual renewal of American Fidelity Assurance as the third party administrator for the district’s Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan agreement. Finally, the Board approved the first reading of Board Policy series 800-900 which included transporting students in private vehicles, tobacco, drones, and community relations. They also approved the second reading of policy for online fundraising campaigns and expenditures for a public purpose.
