Greene County returns to its home softball diamond after two straight softball road losses when the Rams host Gilbert in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play tonight. The varsity contest can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins around 7 p.m.

Both teams are below .500 on the season with the Tigers 7-9 and the Rams 3-10. Gilbert has a .356 team batting average and 2.92 team earned run average. The Rams are hitting .254 as a team and the ERA is at 5.74.

Senior Megan Carey, a left-handed slap-hitter batting leadoff for Coach Tom Kennedy, leads her team with a .419 average. Senior Jenna Beyers is hitting .361 and junior slapper Izzy Bravard is also above .300 at .308. Freshman Carmyn Paup leads the Rams in runs batted in with 10. Carey has 13 runs scored and Beyers has scored 10.
