There was some minor changes in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area in terms of unemployment figures for May.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County had a decrease in unemployment from April to May of 0.2-percent to 2.3-percent. Dallas and Greene counties each had slight increases from April to May of 0.1-percent. Dallas County had 1.6-percent for May and Greene County had 2.3-percent.

All three counties continue to be below the state unemployment rate. Iowa’s percentage of those without a job remained the same from April to May of 2.4-percent. The national unemployment rate for May was 3.6-percent.
