Stuart residents are reminded of an opportunity to clean out their homes and help make the community attractive to visitors during upcoming events such as RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa).
The City is hosting a summer clean-up event this Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Stuart Street Maintenance Yard located at 220 South Fremont Street. Residents are allowed to drop off two free loads of waste, and accepted items include furniture, batteries, trash, and metal. They will not accept tires, paint, televisions, propane tanks, appliances, and hazardous waste. Those who are physically incapable or can’t provide a mode of transportation can arrange to have their items picked up.
The City needs volunteers this Friday and Saturday to make this a successful effort to tidy up the town. To volunteer or for more information, contact Bob Cook at 515-480-2589.
