Young adults residing in the West Central Valley School District have a week left to apply for a chance to travel to a country of their interest.
The Stuart Library Foundation has received a $100,000 donation from an anonymous couple to be awarded as scholarships for the next 10 years to those aged 18-25 who want to travel internationally. The scholarships are not just for students but for anyone who feels a trip would benefit them personally.
Foundation Board Member Russ Wagner talks about the venture, “Well, I think the Foundation is very excited to participate because we just think it’s a huge opportunity for young adults to do something on a worldwide level that they probably wouldn’t do otherwise. And the individuals that are donating the money quote Mark Twain and the quote is, ‘Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrowmindedness.’”
The first phase of applications is due Monday, July 8th and forms can be found on the Foundation’s website.
