The West Central Valley Baseball team has had a busy week so far, and the Wildcats now get settled into a nine day stretch without any games.
WCV Head Baseball Coach, Nick Weinmeister, has decided to give his team an extended weekend to allow his team to spend Independence Day with their families and friends.
West Central Valley Baseball traveled to Saydel on Monday, before hosting their Senior Night festivities on Tuesday.
Weinmeister believes the long-weekend is necessary for his team, and also believes that his players deserve and need to spend the holiday with their families. In an interview with Raccoon Valley Radio, Weinmeister mentioned that, at least, one of his players is planning on enlisting in the armed forces post high school.
Weinmeister said that the Fourth of July is a time to reflect on those who served and gave all so that we can enjoy and celebrate the freedoms that we are privileged to have.
WCV Baseball is off until next Thurday against Winterset.
