As the summer season continues, there are opportunities for those in Greene County to have access to free sunscreen.

Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says they received another grant through the Iowa Cancer Consortium for free sunscreen. She points out it’s the third year of receiving the grant, and this year the focus of their Sun Safety Project is children at daycare.

“We’ve tried to make a heavy-duty effort at getting sunscreen out to all of the providers in Greene County, and giving them education. They have just really been receptive to that.”

Wolf says other areas that have free sunscreen include: libraries in the county, pharmacies, golf courses, swimming pools and Spring Lake Park. She hopes everyone can take advantage of the free sunscreen.
