The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The meeting began with the Board approving a payroll change notice for new part-time Recorder Clerk Rhonda Weber, at a starting pay of $13 an hour. Human Resources Director Pam Lane also informed the Board of two new coverage plans that Nationwide Insurance has introduced that involves a smaller investment from the County. Next, County Engineer Josh Sebern updated the Board on Secondary Roads projects. Sebern mentioned that the Iowa Department of Transportation has approached him about installing railroad crossing signals at the two railroad intersections on Talon Avenue east of Menlo. Sebern said he signed an application for a federal grant that could cover 90% of the cost of the project. Sebern also sought the Board’s guidance on whether to continue maintaining a gravel driveway near 2698 Jaguar Trail southwest of Guthrie Center, for which the Board came to a consensus to continue. Sebern also mentioned the department is now fully staffed, and a new grader should be arriving this week.
