After last week’s relatively dry conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, some southwest and central Iowa counties have reported drought conditions.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Drought Mitigation Center, all but the northwest portion of Guthrie County is regarded as abnormally dry. Dallas County and the northern part of Adair County is also abnormally dry. Last week was the first time drought conditions were reported in Iowa in about 10 months.
