There were at least six participants for this year’s Safety Camp with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

The four-day camp is sponsored by the Jefferson Elks Lodge, which donated $200 toward the program. Kids entering kindergarten learn about different aspects of how to be safe including: bus, bicycle, car, electrical, pool, drug/alcohol, stranger, fire, railroad, telephone and animal safety. It also included special guest speakers such as Jefferson Mayor Craig Berry and the local police department. The program was led by Sydney Schiltz.
