
Friday, August 16th
11:40am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Olive Street.
2:21pm: Richard Burkhardt spoke with an officer about someone possibly having been in his residence of 401 East McKinley Street on 08/11/2019 without his permission.
4:37pm: A caller advised of a dog in a car at 106 West Washington Street. The officer located the vehicle, which was running with the air conditioning on.
11:24pm: While conducting a Parks Check at Kelso Park, an officer located a parked vehicle and spoke to the occupants. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of a 17 year-old-juvenile male for, “Possession of Alcohol by Person Under 18 – Simple.” The juvenile was released to a parent. Rachel Suzanne Smith, 30 of Audubon was cited and released for, “Permit Person Under 18 to Consume Alcohol – Simple and Open Container / Driver – Simple.”
11:25pm: Bev Luft reported someone knocking on her windows at 300 South West Street. The officer was busy with the previous entry and did not respond.
Saturday, August 17th
9:45am: John Sturgeon reported someone had knocked over three landscaping lights at 503 West State Street. The lights were not damaged.
11:20am: HyVee requested assistance from an officer in locating the owner of a vehicle that had been in the parking lot for most of the week. The business wanted the vehicle moved.
12:55pm: A Collision Alarm Company advised dispatch they had received an alarm from a vehicle involved in an accident near 220th and American Ave. The officer located the vehicle in the parking lot at 777 Wild Rose Lane and spoke to the driver. The vehicle was fine and had not been involved in an accident.
9:52pm: Tracy Anderson requested an officer at 606 West Washington Street to remove an intoxicated female from his residence. Anderson advised the intoxicated female walked away from the residence before the officer arrived. He requested the officer locate her and tell her she is not welcome back at this residence. The officer located the female entering a vehicle at 303 North Elm Street. Before he exited his vehicle, she pulled out of the lot onto Washington Street. The officer performed a Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West Washington Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Melynda Louise Weltha, 43 of Grand Junction for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.”
11:59pm: A caller advised of a vehicle in the ditch near Neola and 250th Street. The officer learned the vehicle was outside of the city limits and passed the info to a deputy.
Sunday, August 18th
1:23am: While conducting a Parks Check, an officer located three juvenile males sitting on a table at Russell Park. One juvenile ran from the area as the officer approached them. The officer spoke to the remaining juveniles, who advised the male was not 18 and worried about getting into trouble. The officer has the juvenile’s name and is investigating.
6:44am: An officer located an Open Business Door at 1108 North Elm Street. He secured the business after finding nothing suspicious inside.
7:35pm: An officer went to 606 West Washington Street to investigate a Domestic Abuse Assault report he received from Melynda Weltha during her OWI arrest on the previous evening.
