Greene County returns a number of players from last season’s Class 2A playoff team. That squad went 8-1 in the regular season, 8-2 overall, tied for the District 9 title, and was ranked in the top 10. First year head coach Caden Duncan will have a number of weapons on both sides of the ball, as well as on special teams at his disposal.

The coach was asked his thoughts about players going on both sides of the ball. “We’re going to have as many one-way players as we can. We know as we go deeper into the season all those reps mount up and we want to try to limit that. There will be some two-way players because your best players are still going to play, but we’ll give those guys some breathers, so they won’t be on the field all the time.”
The Rams have a controlled scrimmage this Friday at 7 p.m. vs. North Polk in Alleman. The regular season opens on Friday, Aug. 30 in Jefferson vs. Perry in the annual “Cowbell” game at 7 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
