The Guthrie County Hospital has recently been equipped for advanced life-saving measures to treat those with heart disease.

The Guthrie County Hospital Foundation donated funds to the hospital to purchase a new electrocardiogram, or EKG machine. An EKG is a recording of the electrical activity of the heart, which is used to diagnose heart attacks. Emergency Department Nurse Danielle Brown says an EKG is the quickest tool they have to help diagnose a heart attack, and she feels fortunate to have new and faster equipment to provide the best care possible to patients. Foundation President Kent Stephenson thanks all those who support the Foundation with donations to be able to help give the hospital the newest and best equipment to provide top notch care for patients.
