The Dallas County Hospital Foundation will be hosting their next Lunch and Learn program this week, and it will also serve as a celebration.
The hospital turned 65 years old this year. To honor the milestone, this Thursday at noon in the second floor community room, the Foundation invites the public to learn more about the history of DCH, including how the services offered has expanded over the years. Programs to be covered will include: skilled care; Senior Life Solutions; care coordination; physical therapy; the Loan Closet; and educational opportunities.
Foundation Manager Matt Crooks says there is no cost to attend the event, and it includes a free meal. However, he says registration is required because seating is limited. Crooks adds, the hospital hosts Lunch and Learns nearly every month as an outreach service, and they cover a wide variety of topics. “We try to incorporate different things each time that we have them, but it’s things that would pertain to the community. You know, it could be medical related, it could just be an awareness event that we have. Or like this fall we’re also going to be talking about things to think about when preparing for taxes. So it’s just things that we try to bring awareness to the community through.”
To sign up for the Lunch and Learn, contact Crooks at 515-465-7563, or stop into Dallas County Hospital. To hear more from Crooks, listen to today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program on air and at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
