Greene County expected to be able to both run and pass the ball effectively this football season. Coach Caden Duncan’s team totaled 347 yards of offense with 216 on the ground and 131 through the air.
Senior running back Colby Kafer led the way with 179 rushing yards on only nine carries and two touchdown runs. The team averaged 12.70 yards per carry while Kafer averaged nearly 20 per attempt.
Senior quarterback Brent Riley went 8-14-1 through the air for 131 yards and two touchdowns, both to senior Carter Morton. Seniors Nick Breon and Will Hansen, along with junior Zach Goff, each had one pass reception.
The Rams go on the road Friday night to Nevada. The Cubs won last Friday vs. North Polk in Alleman by a 26-15 final. Coverage Sept. 6 starts at 6 p.m. with kickoff at 7 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
