Last Friday, the Mustangs of Dallas Center-Grimes took to the gridiron for the first time this season.  DC-G’s defense was stout, allowing just two first half touchdowns, and holding the Pella Little Dutch to a shutout in the final two quarters.

Unfortunately, the Mustangs could get any scores themselves in the defensive struggle, and the Mustangs left Pella with a 14-0 loss.

Tonight, in week 2, DC-G has the chance to redeem themselves as they will face the Warriors of Nowalk this evening on the road.

Although DC-G was kept scoreless last week, there were some bright spots in the offensive stat columns.  The Mustangs lead rusher, Zach Brand, carried the ball 24 times, for over 107 yards for the game.  Brand averaged 4.5 yards per carry against Pella.

Additionally, Junior Quarterback, Ty Walker went 12 for 18 on passing, averaging nearly 10 yards per completion.  Walker ended the game with 113 yards in the air.

The Mustangs will have their hands full tonight with the ranked Warriors.  Last week, Norwalk took down 4A Indianola, in Indianola by the score of 26-3.

DC-G and Norwalk will kick off Varsity action tonight at 7:30pm in Norwalk.
