The Perry Chamber of Commerce is continuing their Better My Business series this month, and they’re getting an assist from ISU Extension and Outreach.
On Tuesday, September 24th, the Chamber and Extension are partnering to offer a Grant Writing 101 workshop. The class will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at the Town/Craft Building. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the program will be a good resource for nonprofit organizations, schools, or local government entities as they seek funding sources. “So this is just a really good chance to dive deep into grant writing, whether it’s your first time (or) whether you’re seasoned at that skill. There’s always something to learn and always a good way to tell your story, and get out there in front of those funding opportunities. So whether it’s through the chambers (or) hotel/motel, or whether it’s the Dallas County Foundation, other local area grants, state (or) federal level, this will be a good workshop for those that are able to apply to those.”
The cost to attend the workshop is $10 per person, and includes a light meal. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet for hands-on, online activities during the event. Registration is required by September 20th, and you can do so by reaching out to Pasutti at the Chamber office at 515-465-4601, or by emailing PerryChamber@PerryIA.org.
