Greene County plays football away from Jefferson tonight for the first time this season. Coach Caden Duncan’s team travels to Nevada for a non-district contest tonight at 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Coach Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about some of the extra preparations for playing on the road. “There’s just a little bit more than goes through the process of preparing. You’ve got to get travel bags loaded the night before and loading the (equipment) trailer. Obviously, there’s a bus ride. You adjust your schedule slightly when you arrive because there’s not as much downtime for the guys. They know as soon as we get there they’ll start getting ready, start going through our meetings and things. It’s just a little bit accelerated. The guys know the schedule and we’re ready for Nevada and ready for a good challenge.”
Both teams are 1-0 after season opening victories last Friday. The Rams won the annual “Cowbell” game with Perry 54-0 in Jefferson, while the Cubs won 26-15 at Alleman vs. North Polk.
