The Perry School Board convened Monday evening in regular session.

The meeting started with a closed session to discuss pending litigation. When the Board reconvened in open session, they received reports from the school principals on how back to school went at each building. Superintendent Clark Wicks then gave an update on the progress of the wrestling/multipurpose room and industrial technology facility project. The first action item approved was a resolution supporting a classification review committee with the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Activities Director Tom Lipovac and High School Principal Dan Marburger presented a proposal for Perry to join 26 other schools in asking for the association to consider other factors aside from enrollment to determine athletic classes.

After that, the Board approved 28E agreements with the Grandwood Consortium and Woodward Academy for the current school year. They also approved food service agreements with Head Start and the Perry Child Development Center, personnel changes, and revisions to Board policies. The meeting concluded with the first reading of a policy regarding limitations to employment references.
