There are only two Thursdays left in the season for the Perry Farmers Market, and next week’s is also the final special event of the year.
Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says they’ve had a great deal of success with the themed markets, which have been held the third Thursday of each month. The theme for the final event of 2019 is “Health and Wellness,” which Pasutti feels lends itself to the atmosphere established at the farmers market. “There are other health fairs and things like that, so this is a little bit different where we’re bringing in the wellness side of things as well. And then just really connecting the dots with the farmers market and the local produce that is available there.”
Pasutti says several local health and wellness providers have indicated they’ll be a part of the event, including Dallas County Hospital, Dallas County Conservation, the Perry Area Food Pantry, and an assortment of local businesses. The farmers market is held in Josh Davis Plaza and 2nd Street in downtown Perry on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. through the last week of September.
