An event is happening tomorrow in Jefferson for everyone who has dreams.
The BIG Dream Gathering will be at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose in Jefferson tomorrow from 6:30-8pm. Co-founder Mitch Matthews says the event starts with participants anonymously writing down their dreams on paper. He will then give a speech, followed by posting everyone’s dreams around the room. Participants can then walk around and provide help to each other’s dreams. Matthews describes the different types of people that attend the program.
“Some people will come and they’ll know their dreams already. They’ll be excited to write them down, they won’t even need to hear a talk or anything, they are good to go. But that’s really the minority. Most people that come to a BIG Dream Gathering it’s been a while, maybe since they’ve given their dreams a thought. They’ve forgotten about the dreams, maybe the dreams have gotten buried or bruised. And they come to just kind of get a little dose of inspiration, maybe a little help, maybe a little clarity.”
The end of the evening will be closing remarks and time will be allowed if people want to share their dreams. Matthews invites people of all ages to attend the free event. The businesses who helped sponsor the location of the event include: Peoples Bank, Jefferson Telecom, Rotary Club of Jefferson, and Greene County Development Corporation. The event is being coordinated by Jefferson Matters: Main Street with support from Greene County Chamber and Tourism.
