The AC/GC volleyball team will hit the road to try and rebound after a tough stretch.

The Chargers enter the match with a 16-3 record. After starting 12-1, AC/GC has last two of three as they fell to Coon Rapids-Bayard and Des Moines Christian, who entered the match only losing one set all season. The Chargers have had a few days of rest after their toughest stretch of the season in terms of quality and quantity of play.

Head Coach Trevor Irwin tells Raccoon Valley Radio the skid hasn’t changed expectation, “I think we’re sitting really nice, right where we’re at. We are facilitating kind of that growth mindset. So, where we’re at now, isn’t where we are going to finish. We’ve had a lot of success at the beginning half of the year, but we still have the second half of the year. We’re really just putting those games behind us. We’re looking on how we can improve and how we can work our game to get better as we move forward.”

AC/GC has been led by Chloe Largent who leads the team with 323 kills in 50 sets. Largent is also first in the state, regardless of class, in kills per set.

Madrid comes into the match with a 2-8 record. Varsity is set to get underway at 7 p.m. in Madrid.
