Guthrie Center businesses and organizations have the chance to get creative and in the seasonal spirit for the 5th Annual Boo Hoo Scarecrow Contest.

Organized by Main Street Guthrie Center, each downtown business or civic organization is invited to place a scarecrow in their front window, outside the store, or on one of the downtown benches. Participants must also make sure to include a sign noting the name of the business or organization if it is on a bench. Main Street Guthrie Center will be posting photos from now until Halloween of the straw-filled visitors on their Facebook page, and from October 24th-31st the public can vote on their favorite. Cash prizes of $50, $40, and $30 will be given to the top three winners. To get your scarecrow on the ballot, email mainstreetgc@netins.net to say you’re participating.
