A Stuart man has been arrested after allegedly entering a residence and sexually assaulting a juvenile.

According to the Stuart Police Department, at about 12:13 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a residence on Southwest 7th Street for the report of a burglary. A juvenile female living at that residence told law enforcement that an adult male opened her bedroom window from the outside and climbed through. He then allegedly locked the bedroom door and sexually assaulted her. The alleged assault was witnessed by a second female that was in the room. The victim stated that when her mother forced her way into the bedroom, the suspect, 26-year-old Derrick Devon Henry, fled back through the bedroom window. Both witnesses identified Henry, and he was later found and arrested by Stuart Police and charged with first degree burglary, a class B felony; and third degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. Henry was booked into the Adair County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
