After coming off of a conference championship last week, the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams of Dallas Center-Grimes High School now prepare for their District races this Thursday.

The Little Hawkeye Conference Meet was owned by the Mustangs and Fillies, as both teams were crowned as conference champions.

Matt Pries, DC-G Boys’ X/C Coach told Raccoon Valley Radio that his team is focusing on three main points this week in preparation.  Stay sharp, locked in mentally, and most importantly, have fun.  Pries said that this District race will not be a cake walk, but he has big hopes for his team’s performance as they push for state qualifications.

Thursday’s forecast will be considerably cooler than most other races that DC-G Cross Country has competed in this season, and Pries believes that the cooler weather will benefit his team.

The DC-G Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams will compete on Thursday afternoon in Pella.
