Friday’s Guthrie County showdown shook up the latest RPI standings.

Following Panorama’s 48-8 victory over AC/GC Friday night, the latest RPI standings look very different from last week. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the latest RPI standing after week eight. Panorama’s victory helped them jump in the standing to eighth. AC/GC on the other side of the spectrum fell a few slots to thirteenth. The RPI is comprised of the teams record, their opponents record, and their opponents’ opponents record. The IAHSAA uses RPI to establish at-large playoff spots. A total of 16 teams qualify for the state playoffs. District champions automatically qualify and the remaining spots are filled in order by RPI.

Area teams have one more week to make their case for the playoffs. Panorama will wrap up their season at home against West Central Valley. AC/GC will host Mount Ayr to wrap up their season. You can hear the AC/GC-Mount Ayr game on KKRF-2 for free on RaccoonValleyRadio.com with the New Way Ford New Way Auto Pre-Game Show starting at 6 p.m. with kickoff to follow at 7 p.m
