The Greene County Suicide Prevention Coalition continues work to decrease the number of suicides.
We’ve previously reported that Greene County averages five or less suicides per year. The Coalition is asking community members to fill out a simple, five-minute survey to anonymously gauge information about resources in preventing suicide as well as the stigma that surrounds it. Lori Reynolds is the Suicide Prevention Outreach and Education Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She talks about why it’s important for people to take the survey.
“We’re trying to find out where Greene County is now. So today, what are people’s opinions about suicide, how do they think about, what they feel? And that will give us a direction of where we should go with our Coalition so we are reaching people where they are at.”
Reynolds says the deadline to complete the survey is October 31st. Click here for the survey.
