The City of Adel and the Parks and Recreation Department are encouraging the community to get creative and show off their best Jack O’Lanterns with their pumpkin carving contest.

The competition runs through October 31st, and you don’t even have to take your pumpkin anywhere. Parks and Rec Director Nick Schenck says all you have to do is create your artwork, take a picture, and submit it along with your name, the date it was taken, and a phone number. You should also include at least one picture of the carving process, as well as the name of the person doing the work. Photos can either be dropped off at the Adel Parks and Rec office at City Hall, or emailed to Schenck at nschenck@adeliowa.org.

There is no cost to enter, and people of all ages are encouraged to participate. The winners will be announced November 1st.
