The City of Grand Junction has lots of activities happening today.

A historical program with Dale Higgins kicks-off the festivities at 3pm at the community center. Higgins will review historical moments with his collection of items through his auction business. The program will be followed by the GJ 150 Committee burying a time capsule by the library at 4pm. The time capsule includes items that residents suggested during the sesquicentennial event this past summer. The time capsule will be unearthed in 2069. A stone marker will designate the location of the time capsule.

The library and the local Lions Club will then host a free cookout at the community center. Finally, kids and families alike are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the City’s Trunk-or-Treat event on Main Street at 5pm, followed by the city-wide Beggar’s Night from 5:30-7pm.
